This rule is totally man made, and this is what I don't like about Jehovah Witness Congregations . The fact that the way one congregation is ran in one part of the world , could be totally different in another part of the world. I thought they had rules to ''how to treat the disfellowshipped''?

Background Checks????
by iamwhoiam ini was talking to an elder friend of mine.
he says they got a letter in that makes it more strict for a brother to reach out as an ms. if there was ever a letter written on the prospected brother regarding past wrongdoing, he is now practically turned down without question by the circuit overseer.
elder friend said society may even impliment background checks on anyone reaching out.

I don't think anything instituted by the WT would be for the protection of children and the vulnerable, they have not shown any interest or responsibility in that area, I would think the background check, if a reality, was to protect the WT in some way.
I think it's a good idea to have background checks on people if they have a criminal record or if there a paedophile, I just hope they don't go to crazy with it. I don't know why they keep making it harder for bothers to reach out for Ministerial Servant or Elders ? I thought if some time has past than you could reach out of a title ? Did I miss somthing ?

so a brother can't just be a publisher...
by african GB Member inwell atleast not for a long time without getting the elders' attention, either to give him priviledges or to suspect him of having committed a sin and not coming out.. .

These people are a bunch of jokers. The mentality is that if you're not a MS by the time you're in your mid to late twenties then you're "unspiritual" - although they don't say that outright (well not all the time anyway) that is just the general vibe.
I really believe that because of the way Jehovah Witnesses just try to recuit younger men for the title or "privilege" of Ministerial Servant ( ok they will go after younger men too, but they want mostly young men for MS's ) . When I in ( as of 2009 ) I kind of felt like I missed the mark because I wasn't a Ministerial Servant by 23 ( I'm 25 now ). I notice that they look down on you if you don't have rank, title, or ''privilege'' by a certain age.
I don't how when you first meet a fellow "brother" or "sister" they try size you up spirituality .
I was a pioneer, read at the b/s, had a lot of the 'privileges' etc but I wasn't even an afterthought. Interestingly enough, there was a brother around my age group who was one of their favourites, but no sooner than he got his ms promotion he left the 'truth' because he couldn't handle the pressure everybody was placing on him. Of course they were all devastated that their little golden boy didn't want to know lol.
That what I don't like about the politics of the congregation; you'll think that "holy spirit" plays a part it becoming a Ministerial Servant or an Elder. Most of the time an elder will take a brother under his wing develop him and he'll be next in line of a rank or title. I seen congregation golden boy's or golden girls.
A lot of it is blatant favouritism and I've seen it a lot of the years. Brothers who are hard grafters and doing the work get overlooked because they aren't part of the clique or an elder's son, while these other little jokers get their title because their face fits or they are such-and-such's friend.
The way they encourage competitiveness, jealousy, guilt etc is a real shame

As far as differences between congregations go, like others said, its subjective. I've seen lively white congregations, and dull black congregations full of old people. There was one white congregation I'll never forget though. I've given talks at that hall. My dad had surgery done a couple months prior to me visiting this hall one time. I knew he desperately wanted to get out of the house. So I called him and invited him to come along with me. He was ecstatic. This hall is in a somewhat well to do community. There's quite a few money makers, and influential professionals in this community. That congregation which was all white, I don't recall one black person in the audience, and it had to have been the deadest hall I've ever come across. All middle aged and elderly white people. The youngest people were in their 30s. When driving my dad back home, he said the hall was like a morgue. The funny thing is, considering the mild drama in his congregation, he said the dead hall would have been a breath of fresh air.
I notice that too when I moved to a my new current congregation ( I haven't been in there in about 6 months ); it's a mostly white congregation ( with one token black elder ) anyway they like there sweet, but very cliquish ( one person shunned my wife before she even got disfellowshipped ) . The two black congregations I went too were either cold and haughty( even thou it's getting a little bit better ) or old and haughty, so it really doesn't matter.
Have y'all notice that the black congregations have more drama than the white congregations?

How many times can you be rejected for reinstatement ??
by Pitchess Co-Gen inok lets say you get disfellowshipped and because of a disagreement with your "home elders"; you move to another congregation ( i already know about the "rule" where your publisher card stays with you old congregation ).
now lets say you want to come back, but your old congregation keeps rejecting you request for reinstatement ( 3 or more times ).
is there a rule that says that after the fourth rejection the decision to reinstate goes to the new congregation ?
